Really pleased with our meal! It is not quite like Mr Liu's on Lavender Hill, Battersea, London but a really pleasant surprise.

They deliver and that gave then the extra star making it five stars.

Question  why is some of the food pink? stop it!!!!!

    One word: Poppadoms.

Not what you would expect from a chinese restaurant, but amazing poppadoms. The best poppadoms I've ever had anyway. I think it may be testament to the quality and cleanliness of the oil in their fryer. But really good poppadoms. And, here's the best bit, they're free! I know! Free poppadoms! Unfortunately only if you spend over £10, but then who manages to order a chinese meal without it being that much.

Now, this is a traditional British Chinese takeaway. You know, the really heavy, gloopy, greasy, salty loveliness that is a good Friday night chinese takeaway. The sort you eat til you burst. And bursting is a real possibility when you see the portion sizes!

I always try and fool myself and say that I'll just get Singapore Noodles, cos its smaller than a meal and separate noodles. And then it arrives (they deliver) in a double size container! Although I like to 'forget' this the next time. The prawn toasts are amazing as well. Whole slices of white bread, deep fried and really good and hot prawny filling. Mmmmmm.

If you want a feed, you want it delivered and you don't want to move afterwards (and a partial to left over chinese for breakfast, look em up and give em a call.

Oh, did I mention the poppadoms?

My local Chinese restaurant is great. never a mix up on orders as I am a fussy eater and nothing bothers me more than getting something I don't want or need. This place doesn't have a high star rating but still doesn't stop me from going here

This is my second favourite takeaway in Cardiff (after City Pizza), and my favourite Chinese.

Firstly, the portions are huge. I eat way more than I should do and it still feeds me for two days, even when I only order two dishes.

The noodles are some of the best I've ever had, the chips are great, the meat is always tender, and if you order over £10 or £20, you get free poppadoms or prawn crackers respectively. Their menu is huge and they have a wide variety of vegetarian meals.
They're also great with fussy eaters, happy to take out any ingredients you don't, or can't eat.

They deliver to nearly everywhere in Cardiff and I've never waited more than 45 minutes for an order. And their food comes in those nice plastic tubs rather than tin trays, keeping it nice and warm while you're eating, and ideal for putting in the fridge to eat the next day.

From the outside looking in, you wouldn't think Happy House could ever be described as anyone's takeaway of choice. Takeaway of unfortunate circumstance? Yes. Takeaway of cruel punishment? Certainly. Takeaway of choice? No, and you're a takeaway philistine for even suggesting it.

However, that's just what Happy House is for me at the moment. It's a low-key, bland-looking establishment that just so happens to make some of the best chow mein I've ever tasted and at a reasonable price too. The food is delicious across the board, and allows for a lot more customisation that most other takeaways I've frequented. The Lady is one of those terminally allergic girls and so she is rather fussy about the contents of her food. At other places we've asked for the removal of some ingredients and been ignored, but this hasn't happened once with Happy House, thankfully.

The other reason I really like this place is because they place their entire menu on their website. A simple step that's immensely helpful but isn't used by many restaurants, unfortunately.
